I was mesmerised watching the flowing water and delighted in how I had captured the image.
It was a beautiful reflection of a moment frozen in time.
But which way is up?
Indeed, my iPhone took some persuading. But this is the real orientation looking down from the wooden bridge as the low morning sun caught the ripples created by the shape of the stones.
Here’s the thing: what we observe in a reflection does depend on the way we see it.
Are we open to hope and possibility? Or are we looking for the flaws and reasons to doubt?
Reflecting helps us make sense of where we are and where we’re going.
Let’s endeavour to have the picture up the right way.
