Do you ever have those conversations where you suddenly realise you are on another planet to the other person?
Not the fundamentally different world view type. But the how did we get here? kind…
I do. And usually, it’s because I’m missing something.
Maybe I drifted into the conversation, catching up on the opening and never quite grasping the key entry point. Or the other thinks this is a continuation of an earlier session and I assume it’s a new start.
And it’s so easy to miss-hear a word, which then becomes the pivot point.
Whatever it is, I have a choice.
Do I carry on ignoring the emerging distance, or stop and ask what am I missing?
