Seems counter-intuitive to say this, but we don’t win at the finishing line.
It starts much, much earlier.
Earlier in the race – how we started and how we paced ourselves.
Even before the race – how we trained, learning from other races and other people. How we’ve looked after ourselves in body, mind and soul.
Even before we started training – what was going on there? How did we discern that ‘this was for me’? What was the fire that got us going?
The foundations in our lives and being have a very, very long tail. And need to be paid attention to all along the way. Why are we doing this…
Just trying to win at the finish line is futile. It’s how we run the race that counts.
