Unfurling, being open to catch the wind

To unfurl.

Let the sound linger as you sense the graciousness of movement.

It opens from a closed state, like a folded umbrella or a rolled-up sail on a boat.

To unfurl something means opening up its full potential. Showing what has always been there, yet not currently displayed.

And it does mean more than just parading its breadth. Because whatever is unfurled has a function.

That’s why it is being opened up.

It is ready for use. It is poised to do the work it was created for.

How about you and me?

Are we ready to be unfurled and catch the wind?

~ Unfurling has always felt like a spring word until I saw these green catkins on the hazel tree yesterday.
