The extraordinary privilege of conversation

I suspect many of us simply take conversations for granted.

Yet perhaps we miss seeing the generative potential of this coming together*.

We probably don’t recognise the impact we have on each other. And the fruit we take to our next conversation as a result.

So what might happen if we chose to see these encounters differently?

How would we value them?

Would we say more or less?

*One of the roots of the word ‘conversation’ is: ‘abide, keep company with’.
