Do you ever look in the mirror?
Not just a quick check to see that you’re roughly presentable, but really look.
Yet perhaps there is more to see, as Augustine of Hippo suggested in the fourth century:
And men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.+ St. Augustine, in Confessions
What could happen if we paid more attention?
