Sorry, there are no maps today

I love maps.

They are an endless source of delight, enabling me to enter landscapes I have never seen.

And shaping my sense of proximity and proportion, habitation and connexion.

Yet, they can only ever be a record of a moment in time. And that time is past.

Sorry, there are no maps of your future, or mine, or ours.

Instead, we get to explore.

To make patterns from different angles of knowing. And meaning that has layers of wise possibility.

So where are the path makers, those who are ready to explore, imagine and create, rather than waiting to be told?

Those who are quiet enough to hear the call of the earth and the echoes of tomorrow.
