So near, so far

Close up, we assume we should recognise things. We should know what we’re dealing with.

Yet we can be too close to see clearly. The sense of familiarity obscuring our sight.

Or our proximity can provide the environment for going deeper. Closer still. Seeing what was previously in the shadows – in ourselves and each other.

Either way, it is a surprise.

The question is: what will we do next?
