Shifting perspective

Our conversation last night provided some healthy insights about perspective.

Friends had been part of a film crew in Cardigan Bay, where amongst other things you often see dolphins. However, their experience of being on the water shifted entirely when they saw the drone footage from high above.

Sometimes we really do need to see what’s going on from a ‘helicopter view’. What appears confusing and messy closeup – with all the emotional churn that this brings – may feel very different when viewed at a distance.

We don’t always have the luxury of stepping back. But it’s helpful to know that what we may be encountering is not the whole story.

And we can always look up at the stars.
