Revisiting place

Wandering around the valley yesterday in its not-quite-fully-spring-yet-hopeful state, I reflected on the stories we choose to tell ourselves about place.

Especially the place that is our place, that is most closely associated with who we are. And perhaps who we think we are.

I wonder if this is why we sometimes struggle to be present here, now, without being pulled by all the un-finished-ness around us. And in us.

This place – our little valley in South West Wales – is a place of paradox, which invites me to live in the now-but-not-yet. To embrace that both we and here have been discarded and reclaimed. And be open to the work of restoration and emergence.

I wonder, where are you? And what do you need to see differently, with the eyes of your inner being, not just your retinas?
