Usually, we talk about opening doors.
And often it’s so we can walk through from here to there…
But sometimes it’s not a change in location that we need just now.
We’re not done with here. And it’s not there that’s important, even though there might offer the attractive illusion of a problem solved.
Instead, we might need to open a window:
…to feel the air and breathe it in,
…or see the light and notice the colours,
…and hear the other world out there and recognise the smallness of our own,
…to invite change that starts with us.
Ultimately we need to refresh our minds and souls so that we can be ready to walk through the door when the time comes.
