Laying down

laying down

Walking up the valley this morning I found a moss-covered rotten branch that had come down in the storm. Pushing it aside from the track I knew the log would continue to do its job of feeding grubs, insects and other organisms as it decayed.

In this season, which is frenetic for most of us, I know that suggesting we add in some space to slow down and catch our breath probably isnโ€™t that helpfulโ€ฆ

However, I am noticing things that I can let go. Stories that have served their purpose and need to be allowed to fall to the ground. Otherwise, they are just dead wood – in all senses.

Of course, there are other stories, ones that others have laid upon us. And thatโ€™s for another day.

So today, what are the things that we can lay down so that we can walk on well?
