Walking up the valley this morning I found a moss-covered rotten branch that had come down in the storm. Pushing it aside from the track I knew the log would continue to do its job of feeding grubs, insects and other organisms as it decayed.
In this season, which is frenetic for most of us, I know that suggesting we add in some space to slow down and catch our breath probably isn’t that helpful…
However, I am noticing things that I can let go. Stories that have served their purpose and need to be allowed to fall to the ground. Otherwise, they are just dead wood – in all senses.
Of course, there are other stories, ones that others have laid upon us. And that’s for another day.
So today, what are the things that we can lay down so that we can walk on well?
