I live amongst trees. They are awesome and I never tire of encountering their beauty and grandeur.
From past experience, I know that my soul wilts in tree-less environments.
However, it is easy to only see them at person height. To close down our perspective to the scale we can manage.
And that’s a problem, because it gives us a false sense of place and reduces our awareness of life.
Yesterday, I stood in the conifers and listened to the wind.
But it wasn’t until I looked up that I realised how dramatically the treetops were swaying in the gusts.
And that’s before we start to think about what we can’t see underground…
