A different kind of hope

We all need hope.

However, neither I nor anyone else can be your hope. As hard as we try, we will always fail you.

And as much as we long for the comfortable assurance of a ‘silver bullet’ to put everything right, there isn’t one. There is no watertight quick fix. There can’t be because life and living aren’t that simple.

We need a different kind of hope. One watered and matured over time, with roots that can stand gale and drought, even if it doesn’t always look pretty on the outside.

This kind of hope is founded in something bigger than ourselves, and yet has expression in the smallest acts we can do.

Hope that we can make a difference each day by how we live in the present, imperfect moments of our lives.

Anything else is just froth.
